The interactive site specific project by Ian Mikyska, which is an unusual combination of sensory perception and spatial installation in the Convent of St Agnes of the National Gallery in Prague. The precincts of the convent offer hidden, quiet corners which offer a unique chance for rediscovery. A booklet with a map and guide will lead you through the individual stops, at which verbal and graphic “scores” will offer instructions for experiencing the space. This walk-installation attempts to lead you to perceive your own perception, thus creating a unique experience.

The sensory stroll will be open all day, the accompanying programme begins at 3 pm. It will consist of “blind walks”, in which you will be led by our volunteers through a short walk around the surroundings of the convent. Your eyes will be covered with cloth, and this, in addition to the loss of responsibility for your own movement, will create an unusually heightened experience of sounds and smells. Each walk lasts up to 30 minutes, due to limited capacity, we kindly ask you to register at this adress: bit.ly/slepeprochazky

The end of the day will see the book launch, followed by a performance by the Prague Jazz Swing Trio, whose repertoire ranges from Gypsy jazz to modern jazz, from old swing to bossa nova. The sensory stroll will be open from the 3rd of September, during the opening hours of the convent; the booklets will be available in both Czech and English at the ticket desk.
