Andrea Giomi
Andrea Giomi is a sound artist, performer and scholar. He is a post-doctoral fellow at University of Grenoble-Alpes's Performance Lab. He holds a Ph.D. in Music and Performing Arts from both Côte d'Azur University of Nice and Alma Mater University of Bologna. His research focuses on embodied music cognition, motion-sensing technologies, human-computer interaction, aesthetics of digital arts and phenomenology of perception. In his work, he aims to develop and interlace three axes of analysis: theoretical, aesthetic and practice-based.
As an artist, his major interests involve improvisational processes in electroacoustic live music and the emergent relations between bodies, sound and technological environments. His artistic work has been presented at various international festivals.
Andrea is co-founder of the Kokoschka Revival collective, for which he also works as a sound designer. He also works as a producer creating techno, ambient and avant-garde music, releasing on labels such as RXSTNZ and Syntheke Records.
