Alexandra Savior
At 14, the young American, Alexandra Savior, discovered her passion for songwriting and found an outlet to cope with the difficult everyday life of her teenage life in Portland. Barely three years later, she published a cover version of the Angus & Julia Stone's hit Big Jet Plane on her YouTube channel, gaining the attention of celebrities like Linda Perry, Courtney Love and Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys. The latter is also the one who supports Alexandra Savior on her debut album Belladonna of Sadness (2017) and produces it, gives her songs and the record a structure, and gives Alexandras' self-written texts the finishing touches. Belladonna of Sadness is bursting with nostalgia pop and creating pictures of longing, heartache and a lot of passion. The record with its eleven songs attracts international attention and brings it to comparison with stars like Lana del Rey or Fiona Apple. Alexandra Savior designs the record cover and shoots the videos for her singles herself. Her album The Archer, released in 2020, literally cries out for independence and shines like the debut album appropriately pompously in dark retro-pop.
