Alexandra Cárdenas
Alexandra Cárdenas is a Colombian composer, programmer, researcher and music improviser. Her projects focus on the exploration of connections between music and codes, and of the algorithmic behavior of music. In addition to her live coding career, Alexandra composes contemporary pieces with orchestras, ensembles and soloists, and has collaborated with various theater companies in Mexico, Belgium and Germany.
In recent years, the musician has traveled the world to introduce live coding as a new performative practice for music. In doing so, she taught with the aim of linking diverse social, artistic and political issues. In this context, she has already been able to perform at events such as the Transmediale in Berlin.
