Alexander Manotskov

Alexander Manotskov is a Russian-born composer. He is the author of works for solo instruments and various chamber ensembles, for orchestra, vocal cycles, concertos, operas. His first works for the theater were written in cooperation with Andrey Moguchy and the Formal Theater. He is an ardent believer of live music in his cinema and theater work. He occasionally works as choir master, choir and orchestra conductor and music producer. He has participated as multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, leader and conductor in many groups and projects of new, early, jazz, traditional and within other styles of music. He taught Music and Composition in Theatre at Shkola-Studija MKHAT (Moscow Art Theatre Theatre School) in 2008-2011. In 2013, Alexander Manotskov also curated musical programmes and was one of the speakers at TEDx Talk in Skolkovo. Alexander Manotskov’s opera Gvidon received the Best Experimental Production award at the 2011 Golden Mask Russian National Theatre Festival and is still in repertoire at Vasiliev Theatre in Moscow.
