Alex Mayr

Alex Mayr has sprung from a music-hungry family and grew up in the shallowest part of Lower Saxony, spitting width to Bremen. The marvellous, lush life was only thrown off by constant musical and theatrical tours, which drove them into the deserts of North Africa, Turkey, and Hungary. These were formative experiences that leave their mark on her music and add to the beautiful and gruesome sides and the peculiarities of life.

Her drumming in the Pop Moloch paid off because after the end of the beautiful junky student bands, remained the companion, drummer, lyricist, and songwriter Konrad Henkelüdeke. The two also landed on albums by Casper, Dagobert, Irie Révoltés and Get Well Soon and released in 2015 their Good Against Evil EP. A tour of Germany followed, in which Alex Mayr performed in a duo with synths, keys, guitar, vocals, drums, percussion, and electronics, just like a full band. In 2016 the EP was followed with the desert grinder Inch'Allah and the accompanying video, shot in Morocco.

Alex Mayr stands for urban pop. Detailed, minimalist arrangements and dark songs meet fat beats. The pictorial German texts are always in the foreground, often with a good dose of melancholy.
