1910 was one of the most formative years of the Brücke artists' group and its artistic peak. Founded five years earlier by architecture students Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff in Dresden, the group found its common style in that year.

The exhibition is part of a three-part series that examines key years of the Brücke artists' group – in addition to 1910, also 1905: The Beginning (planned for 2024) and 1913: Berlin (2018) - in terms of cultural history. In what period was this art created, what was so radically different about it, how does it affect us today? The exhibition explores these questions using the rich holdings of the Brücke Museum.
