Zorba že ja Buddha
Zorba že ja Buddha is a musical project of two classmates from the conservatory – bassist Ondrej Hauser and Slovak-American singer Ashley Abrman. Their collaboration culminated in the release of their debut EP Rosedoud Lambada (2017, Gergaz label), which contains 9 tracks including an intro. In October 2021, they released their first album Organ Chaos online, on which a number of musicians collaborated, including Igor Ochepovsky, Peter Kalfus, Miroslav Hloucal, Pavel Zlámal, Dalibor Mráz and others. Genre-wise, their work can be defined as a mixture of alternative jazz, electronica and hip-hop at the same time.
In an effort to continue, improve their work and reach the largest possible audience, the project has expanded with new members. Specifically, a concert band consisting of Jen Hovorka (keyboards), Marek Urbánek (drums) and Michal "Kolouch" Daněk (drums), with whom they have had many successful performances (Czech Radio Jazz Fest, Mladí tuní Jazz, Jazz in the City, Jazz Fest Brno...).
