Jan Dismas Zelenka composed a large part of his ouevre in Dresden, but he also wrote a number of works for Prague, confirming his strong connection with the city. Some Passion Oratorios for Holy Week contemplation were written for the Jesuit College in Clementinum and on the order of Count Hartig, where Zelenka served at that time. They were intended to be performed at Christ's tomb. Some of them were composed later at the court of the Elector of Saxony and King Frederick II.
