Wojtek Kurek
Wojtek Kurek is a drummer associated with the Warsaw improvised music scene. He has released for such labels as Pawlacz Perski and Wounded Knife; he is also the author of sound installations and theater music. In his solo work, Kurek combines an idiosyncratic approach to percussion with electroacoustic music methods, using the Max/MSP language to process the sounds of the drum kit. He currently also contributes to the avant-folk trio Tuleje and the free jazz ensemble Chryste Panie; he has also been a member of Szpety (with Antonina Nowacka and Gosia Zagajewska) or duos with Piotr Mełech, Paweł Doskocz and Agata Zemla.
