Wiktor Skok

Wiktor Skok is an active participant of industrial culture living in Łódź. Musician, visual artist, publicist, DJ, promoter, curator of music and art projects. He combines curatorial activities with his own work. Does not separate practice from theoretical reflection. He explores the possibilities of various media, platforms of communication and expression. Author of graphics, posters, leaflets, logotypes, videos, etc. He usually combines visual arts with music or noise. Since the first half of the 1980s, he has been present on the punk and hardcore scene and is often considered a pillar of the domestic industrial and experimental scene. Since 1989 he has been active as co-organiser of the Wunder Wave concert series, he is publisher of the punkzine Zygoma (1988-1993), founder and vocalist of the group Jude (since 1993), author of the zine Plus Ultra (since 1999), co-founder of the Łódź club Dom (since 2011). He is a graduate of film studies at the Media and Audiovisual Culture Department of the University of Łódź (2003) and of curatorial studies at the Art History Institute of the Jagiellonian University (2006). He has chosen as his field of penetration the elements of recent history, the iconosphere of totalitarian systems and contemporary cultural trash. He bridges the gap between art, ideology and propaganda. All his actions and realisations form a whole with a few common denominators.
