Werchowyna
Folk music ensemble formed in 1991 on the initiative of Warsaw students associated with the Student Association of Beskid Mountain Guides. At first, the group's repertoire consisted of Lemko, Ukrainian and Hutsul songs and melodies. With time, their musical interests evolved to focus on polyphonic East Slavic songs sung a capella, sometimes with the participation of single instruments. Over the 30 years of its existence, the group has given concerts in Poland and Ukraine, recorded several TV and radio programmes, and been a guest at the largest ethnic music festivals and folk events in Poland: from Lemko Watra in Zdynia or the Festival of Ukrainian Culture in Przemyśl, to Folk Meetings from the Countryside in Czeremcha, or Mikołajki Folkowe in Lublin. Vocal shows at the Warsaw University of Technology, held annually around Christmas, have also become the band's tradition.
