Warsaw Philharmonic ChoirWarsaw Philharmonic Choir began its professional artistic activity in 1953 under the direction of Zbigniew Soja. The main artistic focus of the ensemble is participation in symphonic and oratorio concerts with the National Philharmonic Orchestra and a cappella on the home stage. The choir performs here numerous times during each season and regularly takes part in the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Warszawska Jesień" and the "Wratislavia Cantans" Festival.

The vast repertoire of the FN Choir includes over 400 oratorio and a cappella works from different periods – from the Middle Ages to the present day. A special place in the Choir's repertoire is occupied by Polish music, especially the works of Krzysztof Penderecki. The ensemble performs and records all its oratorio and a cappella works. In February 2017, the first album of the series Penderecki conducts Penderecki (Dies illa, Psalms of David and Hymns to St. Denmark and Adalbert) received the prestigious Grammy Award in the Best Choral Performance category, and five earlier recordings received nominations for this award: Passion according to St. Luke - twice, Polish Requiem, VII Symphony - Seven Gates of Jerusalem, Jutrznia. The album with works by Karol Szymanowski Stabat Mater, Demeter, Veni Creator was also nominated.
