Walk Away
Walk Away is one of the longest-active jazz bands in Poland, having never suspended its activities since 1985. The band was founded on the initiative of drummer Krzysztof Zawadzki, who invited his fellow students to join the emerging group: vibraphonist Bernard Maseli and saxophonist Adam Wendt. In 2020, the core of the band was enriched by the addition of bassist Tomasz Grabowy, among others. They quickly became hugely popular, toured halfway around the world, collaborated with the best – from Urszula Dudziak to Mike Stern and Bill Evans or Eric Marienthal, recorded more than a dozen albums, and in the Jazz Top 2015 poll Walk Away was voted the best electric band in Poland. Walk Away's music is a dynamic mix of jazz, fusion and funk, characterised by energetic rhythms and brilliant improvisations.
