Ugory
The Poznań collective Ugory took the Polish countryside and its pathologies, customs, everyday life and labour as their main point of observation. They portray it through mystical, evocative and punishing music – from early dark ambient releases to the crushing sludge and drone metal that has brought them wide recognition. Ugory have recorded nine albums and EPs, a track for Cyberpunk 2077 and a split with Soil Troth; their most recent release is the blackgaze-evoking 2023 EP Wicher, some of their most accessible material to date. They perform on stage in various configurations (trio-octet), and their shows are often accompanied by props and visuals by Tomek Rolniak and Karolina Karpowicz.
