Tomáš Kačo

The journey of Tomáš Kačo, a pianist with talent and diligence, as well as a composer and arranger, is a story of fulfilled life dreams. He primarily builds his solo recitals on improvisation, with which he develops his style based on a fusion of classical music, jazz, and traditional Romani music. His musical journey is regarded by critics as unique. Tomáš Kačo composes and arranges music for choirs and orchestras and also engages in film music. He prepares themes at the request of organizers.

Tomáš Kačo has performed numerous recitals in Europe and the USA. At the request of the Czech Philharmonic, he composed in 2021 variations on the theme of famous Czech opera arias titled Fantasy Open Air for the final Open Air concert of the 125th season. For the ceremonial opening concert of the Czech Republic's presidency in the Council of the European Union, he wrote a piece called Stronger than Yesterday for the PKF – Prague Philharmonia orchestra, which premiered in July 2022 at Prague's Rudolfinum and subsequently at the cultural center Palais des beaux-arts – Bozar in Brussels. On Czech Statehood Day, September 28, 2023, he received the Silver Medal from the President of the Senate of the Czech Republic. As a thank you to all who helped him, he organized a concert at the Riding School of Prague Castle under the patronage of President Petr Pavel and First Lady Eva Pavlová titled Silnější než včera.

After graduating from Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava, the Prague Academy of Performing Arts, and the prestigious Berklee College of Music, he lives in Los Angeles. He openly states that he is not just there for himself – with his notable "dedication to music," he wants to be an example for other Romani children. Applauding Carnegie Hall is just one variant of life dreams. His debut album My Home, featuring multiple Grammy Award winner John Patitucci, Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý, Kühn Children's Choir, and his younger sister Veronika, was symbolically released on October 28, 2018. This was followed by a series of five singles released in December 2020 during the pandemic. He plays with traditional Czech carols and also pays tribute to L. v. Beethoven in the composition For Ludvig, yours Elise. In 2022, he released the single Nocturne – Stronger than Yesterday. The following year, he presented the EP Live from Prague – a selection of songs from his recital at Studio DVA in Prague. After six years, he released an album titled My Songbook, inviting listeners on a poetic journey through a cult Czech songbook from the second half of the last century.
