Powerwolf
Over the course of several years, Powerwolf have developed their own distinctive style, in which powermetal elements blend quite neatly with gothic, dark aura and scary stories, all underpinned by the musicians' excellent craftsmanship. Powerwolf was formed in Saarbrücken, Germany, in 2003, by musicians who had previously played in the band Red Aim, taking the aliases Charles Greywolf (bass guitar), Matthew Greywolf (guitar), Falk Maria Schlegel (keyboards), Attila Dorn (vocals). The German core of the band has remained constant since then. In 2011, it was completed by Dutchman Roel van Helden (drums). Powerwolf received four awards from the prestigious German Metal Hammer, in the categories: "best newcomer", "best power metal album", "best German band" and "album of the year".
