Gaia Mesiah

Gaia Messiah was formed in 2000 and soon earned a reputation as an unbridled and hyped up crossover band whose greatest strengths are their riveting live shows with total commitment to the audience. The charismatic frontwoman Marku Rybin, whose vocal technique including black metal screaming is hardly rivalled in the Czech Republic, was perfectly complemented from the beginning by guitarist Katka Morella and drummer Misha, while Australian Josh Stewart played bass.

After hundreds of successful concerts and studio albums Ocean (2005) and Alpha Female (2007), Gaia Mesiah went on hiatus for ten years. A spectacular comeback with the original line-up was crowned by 2019’s Excellent Mistake, and the return of the raucous live foursome was documented a year later with the atypical live album Refresh In Golden Hive Live, proving that even two decades on from their first shows, the band has certainly not faded away – quite the contrary.

In March 2023, Gaia Messiah checked in with the new album Woollife, returning to their roots while fully capitalizing on the experience gained over many years of being on the domestic rock scene.
