Located in the picturesque Calabrian Aspromonte small town Africo is a place where time has stopped. Without electricity and a road that would connect it with larger centers, it is doomed to isolation. The order of life here is determined by nature and clear rules that guide the local community on a daily basis. However, this is also a bad thing, because in Africo, everything is in a state of suspension, which only increases the frustration of the people. The charm of bitterness is overshadowed by the tragic death of a woman during childbirth, because the doctor did not make it in time due to the lack of an expensive doctor. The irritated inhabitants decide to take matters into their own hands and build it on their own. The chance to socialize the forgotten Africo will also be the arrival of a new, progressive teacher. Her modern way of life and outstanding beauty cause a lot of confusion and agitation.
