The Scratch
The Irish band The Scratch was formed in 2016 in Dublin by former members of the metal band Red Enemy. From the outset, the band has distinguished itself by combining elements of traditional Irish music with rock and metal, releasing their first recordings as EPs, such as Old Songs (2018) and The Whole Buzz (2019).
They released their debut studio album Couldn’t Give a Rats in 2020, marking the start of their discography. Their second album, Mind Yourself, followed in 2023 and was nominated for the Irish Choice Music Prize.
In 2024, there was a lineup change when guitarist Jordan O’Leary left the band and was replaced by Gary Regan.
Their current work is represented by their third studio album, Pull Like a Dog, released in 2026, which builds on their previous recordings. In addition, the band contributed to the Dropkick Murphys’ album For the People (2025) and continues to perform both live and in the studio.
