Systém Rathouský

The exhibition The Rathousky System is on view at Pražák Palace from 18 April 2025 to 22 February 2026.

Jiří Rathouský is one of the most important graphic designers and typographers of the Czech post-war generation. With his aesthetically exceptional graphic designs, he shaped the public visual environment, and his book and magazine designs entered the intimate space of our homes. The forthcoming exhibition will be accompanied by a scholarly publication that highlights the artist's designs in the fields of poster design, book graphics and typography, type design, visual style, information design, wayfinding systems and graphic navigation, all of which are key to the development of modern visual communication, fields in which his masterpieces were created. In addition to the thematic circuits, it will also include interesting expert excursions focused on specific topics in Rathousky's life and work.
