Premiere screening of the film "Infnite Storm" and discussion with Dr hab. Krzysztof Abriszewski from the Institute of Cultural Sciences at the Nicolaus Copernicus University.

Infinite Storm, Małgorzata Szumowska's first American film, is a breathtaking and chilling expedition into one of the world's most dangerous mountain ranges, where wind gusts reach 300 km per hour and the weather changes constantly. It is also a story about other elements: loss, risk and the courage to survive life's worst storms. Hollywood star Naomi Watts (The Impossible, Birdman, Mulholland Drive) plays the lead role in this true story-inspired thriller, perfectly blending fragility with steadfastness.

Her protagonist, Pam Bales, embarks on a solo hike to Mount Washington, the highest elevation of the unpredictable, ice-torn White Mountains in the US state of New Hampshire. This hike is her ritual and her way of coping with dramatic memories. And on the very day she feels most vulnerable, she will have to show her greatest strength: someone will die if she doesn't help them. But if she chooses to help, she may also die herself. Infinite Storm draws us into the middle of a monumental landscape, raging elements and extreme emotions. It reminds us that beauty and horror are sometimes inseparable, and that life's crises are as inevitable as violent weather collapses. Pam Bales' moving story teaches that they are worth facing and never giving up.

Infinite Storm, with fantastic cinematography by Michał Englert, is another joint project by this director-cinematographer duo, whose credits include The Snow Will Never Fall and The Body. Their latest film, which explores the crisis situation as well as man's relationship with nature, is often compared to such tales of courage and hope as The Phantom or Gravity.
