Shawn James

Shawn James did not come out of nowhere. His roots are quite obvious and it does not cut itself off. He spent his childhood in southern Chicago, absorbing soul and gospel music. These species he loved most, and artists such as Howlin 'Wolf, Robert Johnson and Ottis Reading had huge influence on his musical education. From these fascinations, Shawn has developed his own blues, folk and soul mix, combining both the dark and the hilarious shades of the South. Imagine some remote place, a banjo and a bottle of good whiskey – that is the essence of Shawn James music.
