Ryosuke Kiyasu

Japanese experimental percussionist Ryosuke Kiyasu has dedicated his solo activities to exploring the possibilities of the single snare drum. He plays it in explosive shows, focused more on expressive, Japanoise-evoking carnal perfomance than virtuosity; these have brought him considerable recognition in experimental and improvised music circles, and recordings of them fascinate with the diversity of audience reactions to new phenomena. In addition to his solo activities, Kiyasu was a member of grindcore duo Sete Star Sept, powerviolence act The Endless Blockade and Keiji Haino's legendary Fushitsusha.
