Rising Spirits
Rising Spirits got together in the autumn of 2014 with Asheema and Bob, Luke and Lukáš. At that time, Mort was on bass then, nowadays Kubassa has been playing for a few years now. Some have drifted through other musical groupings at various times and periods.
Their love of reggae unites them with an overlap to their roots of soul, funk, rap, or afrobeat, from where they draw inspiration. But the greatest navigator of their work remains Bob Marley. They’ve spent years studying his songs, and his sound, and gradually uncovering the genius behind Marley’s music, which they’ve tried to translate into their work. The first concert of Rising Spirits took place symbolically on February 5, 2015, to mark Bob Marley’s 70th birthday.
