Peter Kolárčik
Peter Kolárčik is a musician and an intermedia artist who studied in the Photography 1 studio at UMPRUM from 2017-2021 and in the Intermedia 2 studio at the Academy of Performing Arts between 2021-2024. He collaborates on his music with his “buddies” (including, among others, Christopher Pauliny). He writes lyrics about his everyday experiences “in a world of cheap appliances and expensive rents, in a system based on constant economic and personal growth”. With exaggerated themes, he discusses internalised pressures on productivity, working conditions in culture, or pervasive commercialisation. In early November 2024, he released his debut album Time to Shift. Musically, it's a blend of genres of (mostly) guitar music, from emo to autotune pop to folk songwriting, held together by Peter's vocal delivery between singing, rapping and storytelling.
