Paktofonika
Paktofonika is undoubtedly one of the most important projects of Polish hip hop, whose original line-up included Magik, Fokus and Rahim. Shortly after the release of Kinematografia in the year 2000, Piotr "Magik" Łuszcz (previously also known from the cult Kaliber 44) died after throwing himself from his flat's window, and the band was only active for two more years. Despite this, it is still one of the most celebrated projects in the history of Polish rap – it was already appreciated upon its release (and awarded, among other things, the Fryderyk – one of the most valuable Polish music awards), but it had a huge influence on the development of the genre for the next two decades, and even younger generations of rappers very often point to Paktofonika as one of their most important points of inspiration. In 2012, Leszek Dawid's film Jesteś Bogiem was released, based on the history of the band and the tragic figure of the late Magik. In 2022, Fokus and Rahim returned to touring under the banner of Paktofonika to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the album Kinematografia and the 20th anniversary of Archiwum Kinematografii, the band's second album.
