Old Town City Hall

Located in the very heart of Toruń's historic Old Town, the Old Town City Hall is historically the most important building in the city, and one of the largest and most beautiful of its kind in Europe. Built on a square plan with an inner courtyard, it is a symbol of the Gothic Old Town Complex, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.

Today, the Old Town Hall is the main seat of The District Museum in Toruń and the venue for many ceremonies and cultural and other events. In its interiors, visitors can admire, among other things, the Gothic Art Gallery with a collection of unique 14th-century stained glass windows, an exhibition presenting the history and artistic craftsmanship of the years 1233-1793, an exhibition Mint and coins of Toruń 1233/1238-1765, the Bourgeois Room with a gallery of portraits of prominent citizens of Toruń (16th-18th centuries), The Royal Hall with the oldest post office of Polish kings in the country, the collection of jewellery The Treasure from Skrwilno, The Treasure from Nieszawa, and the impressive Gallery of Polish Painting from the Mid-18th Century to 2010 with works by Jan Matejko, Wojciech Gerson, Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, Jacek Malczewski, Julian Falat, Andrzej Wróblewski and Zdzisław Beksiński.
