Nika
Veronika Boráková, performing as Nika, is a Czech singer, songwriter and composer.
She released her debut Flesh & Soul in the spring of 2022. A graduate of the Janáček Conservatory in composition, she blends genres such as jazz, pop, folk, and alternative in her work. Her lyrics tackle personal relationships and the artifice of the world around us, as well as themes of manipulation, disguises, and physical and psychological violence. Nika has been playing the piano since she was four and began composing her first pieces at the age of six. Her band consists of drummer Jonáš Bjolek, pianist Pavel Duda, and bassist Nicolas Gatto. In 2023, she won the Junior category at the Jazzfruit Prague competition.
