Neozbiljni pesimisti
The Serbian folk punk group Neozbiljni pesimisti was formed in 2001 – among a turbulent climate that followed the overthrow of Milošević – with the express purpose of making music that expressed the bittersweet political reality of that time. Fronted by bass player and singer Igor Olujić, the group only gained traction after ten years, releasing their debut album Neka bude što biti ne može in 2010; mixing Balkan folk into a template established by acts like Gogol Bordello and Manu Chao, it was substantially succesful in Serbia and eventually led them to start touring Europe. So far, they've played the likes of EXIT Festival, Pol'and'Rock, Basowiszcza and Nisville Jazz Festival.
