Munly & the Lupercalians + support: Moriah Woods
Jay Munly is a pioneer of what came to be called, after his hometown, the Denver Sound – a subgenre of alternative country that mixes the music with a dark atmosphere and southern Gothic-inspired lyrics. Originally the frontman of Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Munly embarked on a sizeable solo career and in 2007 founded the Lupercalians, a sort of Situationist art project based around the strange fictional town of Lupercalia; on stage, he's backed by musicians that supposedly hail from it, and the ultimate goal of the ouftit is to create a multi-album epic titled The Kinnery of Lupercalia. The show at Hydrozagadka is part of a tour promoting its' first part, 2022's Undelivered Legion.
Joining them as support will be another Colorado native (although one who's been living in Poland for a while): Moriah Woods, who is influenced by artists ranging from 16 Horsepower to Chelsea Wolfe. Her show at Hydrozagadka will be a more intimate, acoustic affair than usual.
