Michael Blackwell
Michael Blackwell is a British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from County Durham in the United Kingdom. At an early age, he began learning to play the guitar, and his musical direction was influenced by records his father introduced him to, including albums by Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Police, and The Beatles.
Michael Blackwell's musical career began with collaborations with other artists, after which he pursued a solo path. He has worked with artists such as Louis Tomlinson, Amber Run, and Lewis Capaldi. In February 2023, he released his first single, Nothing Makes Sense. In October 2023, he released his debut EP titled A Trip Around The Sun, which included the tracks Nothing Makes Sense, Easy, Lesson Learned, Signs of Life, Down On Your Luck, and Cold Water. He organized a European tour in support of the EP, covering cities from Hamburg to London, including a stop in Prague.
In his work, Blackwell combines elements of singer-songwriter tradition, 1990s grunge, indie style, and modern alt-pop. In August 2024, he released the single Who Am I, which was recorded in London in collaboration with producers and musicians Adam Forster, Alex Lanyon, Tim Jacobs, and Callum McGuinness.
