Metastavy

The Prague quartet Metastavy plays a mix of soul, jazz and hip hop completed by lyrics written by frontwoman Anna Hokešová that are gently spoken rather than rapped. The lyrics don’t fear intimacy, and Anna candidly writes out her experiences and feelings. The band released their debut album Až vyrostu in 2019, subsequently gaining recognition and cementing their position on the Czech alternative scene.
