The greatest local fashion event, Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week S/S 2020, will be held between 30 August and 6 September 2019 on the premises of baroque Invalidovna in Karlín.

A professional committee, comprising representatives of fashion and life style magazines Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Czechoslovakia, Dolce Vita, Proč ne?!, fashion photographer Benedikt Renč, and MBPFW CEO Lukáš Loskot, has confirmed the greatest number of designers in MBPFW history, who will be presenting their fashion visions for the spring/summer 2020 season. MBPFW CEO Lukáš Loskot explains the choice of location: “The venue plays an important role in the staging of the event. We always attempt to create a unique atmosphere for the designers as well as visitors. Thus, the showcase will move from the industrial space of Department Store Kotva it occupied in March to historical surroundings.”

Apart from the two largest local fashion brands Blažek and Pietro Filipi, the Fashion Temple in Karlín will also host students of three Czech fashion design universities. As is tradition, guests can look forward to students of the Studio of Fashion and Footwear Design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague and of Fashion Design Studio at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín. There will also be newly invited students of the Department of Design at the Technical University of Liberec. An element of international confrontation will be introduced by students of the prestigious Bunka Fashion Graduate University from Japan. Fashion designer and tutor at UMPRUM Prague Liběna Rochová will present her work at MBPFW for the very first time. The team of designers also includes: Adam Kost, Dominika Kozáková, Daniela Pešková, Imreczeova, Jan Černý, LAFORMELA, Lukáš Krnáč, Michael Kovacik, Odivi, Tereza Vu, Zoltán Tóth and Zuzana Kubíčková, Natalie Dufková, Jakub Patka, Martin Kohout, Michaela Hriňová (AiM), Vanda Janda, and stylish modular bags by Naut. The autumn showcase traditionally includes a show by the winner of the Van Graaf Junior Talent competition for up-and-coming designers– this year’s winner, who is presenting his collection, is Boris Král‘.

MBPFW is an international festival of Czech and Slovak fashion. The regular cultural and social event has been presenting catwalk shows of the best of local fashion design as well as topical side events since 2010. MBPFW inspires, supports local creativity, and scouts for new talents.
