Mass of the Fermenting Dregs
Mass of the Fermenting Dregs (also known by the shortened form of their name, Masu Dore) is a post-hardcore/shoegaze trio. The band was formed in Kobe, Japan in 2002, originally with an all-female line-up of Natsuko Miyamoto, Chiemi Ishimoto and Reiko Gotoh.
After Reiko's departure in October 2007, the band continued with the official lineup of Natsuko and Chiemi, with various musicians serving as "support drummers". Chiemi Ishimoto left the group in 2010, leaving Miyamoto as the only founding and active member of the group. Though Natsuko Miyamoto, with the help of supporting members, continued to perform as Mass of the Fermenting Dregs through the spring of 2012, in September she officially announced that Mass of the Fermenting Dregs would cease to exist.
However, in late 2015, the band resumed activity and returned with a line-up consisting of Natsuko Miyamoto (vocals, bass guitar), Naoya Ogura (guitar, vocals) and Isao Yoshino (drums, vocals).
