Über Marina Pardo
Mezzo-soprano Marina Pardo was born in Santander, Spain, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oviedo. In 1994 she was selected by Alfredo Kraus to complete her studies at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. She has performed with conductors such as Alberto Zedda, Helmut Rilling, Peter Guth, James Levine, Rafael Frübeck de Burgos, and Jesús López Cobos. Ms. Pardo made her debut at the Teatro Campoamor in Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky and has given concert performances including Brahms’s Alto Rhapsody at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, Schubert’s Mass in B-minor at the Liederhalle Stuttgart, and Falla’s El amor brujo at the Auditorio Nacional of Madrid. She has collaborated with the Spanish National Dance Company in Raptus, choreographed by Nacho Duato, at the Teatro Real Madrid, in which she sang Wagner’s_ Wesendonck Lieder_. She is a member of the ensemble Al Ayre Español, with which she has collaborated in many major European festivals, and has performed Baroque zarzuelas.
