Marcin Zdunik

Polish cellist, soloist and chamber musician. He performs music from the Renaissance to the latest works, improvises, arranges and composes. He presents his own arrangements and compositions in concerts in many European countries, the USA and Korea. He has performed as a soloist in, among others: Rudolfinum in Prague, Carnegie Hall in New York, Cadogan Hall in London, Pyotr Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Hermitage Theatre in St. Petersburg, Westphalian Philharmonic (Konzerthaus Dortmund) Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava, National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Witold Lutoslawski Concert Studio of the Polish Radio. He has taken part in numerous music festivals, including the BBC Proms Festival in London, Musical Olympus in St. Petersburg, Chopin and His Europe, Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus, Wartburg Festival and Meklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts in the discipline of instrumental music in 2017. In 2020, he was awarded the badge of honour Merit for Polish Culture by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. In 2021, at the age of 33, he was awarded the title of Professor in the Arts. He has released more than a dozen albums – three received Fryderyk awards (2010 and two 2022).
