Mahlukat
Mahlukat spins a fancy musical story, full of smoky streets on the bottom of the ocean and a parade of emotions that the young artists weave into an unusual dialogue of two voices – a violin and a hoop drum. The compositions of Güldeste Mamaç (violinist and vocalist) are the result of many journeys to Varanasi, where she studied classical Indian music. Her Turkish origins, classical education and ragas, typical of Indian music, are present in her original compositions, creating a mosaic of eastern, ancient traditions translated into the language of modernity. She is accompanied by the Polish drummer Kasia Kadłubowska, who intuitively explores the intricate rhythmic structures in Mamaç's compositions, bringing to them a subtle sensitivity and reverie sifted through the language of the rim drum. The duo has given numerous concerts in Israel, including the Mitzpe Ramon Jazz Club and Musrara Jerusalem, as well as in Germany, presenting their debut album Zula at world music festivals, such as the Rudolstadt Festival, Horizonte Festival, Tamburi Mundi Festival.
