Lúč Club
The Lúč Club was founded in the town of Trenčín in the building of the Hviezda cinema on Knieža Pribina Street at the beginning of the 1970s (1973) and is the third oldest club in Slovakia.
Under the leadership of the Kolomaž civic association, it has been operating on this site since 2005 under the newer name of Klub Lúč – Open Cultural Space. At the end of 2020, due to the complex reconstruction of the building of the Hviezda cinema, Klub Lúč was forced to temporarily operate in the premises of the Vážka Gallery on Mierovo Square in Trenčín, with the promise of returning to its original premises. As this return did not take place, after 50 years the Lúč Club moved to new premises and from October 2023 found its home in the former Shoe House at Mierovo námestie 17 in Trenčín.
The Lúč Club is the only space of its kind in the Trenčín region, providing the public with the services of organizing and creating multi-genre cultural events focused on contemporary art and culture. Kolomaž o.z. organizes more than 150 cultural events for the general public every year.
