Lama Lumi
The music group Lama Lumi is a three-member female formation that brings a new wave of electropop combined with live rhythm to the Czech music scene.
Their work combines synth-pop sounds from the 80s and the most modern dubstep figures with contemporary pop elements. The synth and sample background is complemented by live drums, keyboards and vocals. All this under the cover of neon colours and lights.
The group met for the first time in Prague in the spring of 2018 and settled on its final line-up a year later. The rhythmic heart of the band is drummer Mirri Melcr, who combines acoustic drums with sampled beats when playing live. Robust electronic sounds and their modulation, as well as classical keyboards and piano are mastered by Ivana "Kivi" Kadlčáková from the pedal to the second floor of her instrumentation. The singer and creator of background samples is Lucie Bártová, who occasionally complements individual passages with simple guitar riffs. A key element of the band's live performances is a combined video light show supported by neon and lighting effects.
The year 2024 was a milestone for the band, when they presented their music with great success to the audience at major music festivals such as Metronome Festival or Soundtrack Festival, and filled the famous Prague club Rock Café. The highlight of the season was an autumn tour with the legendary British band Kosheen, with whom Lama Lumi played eight concerts in support in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
