Sons of Settlers

Sons of Settlers started out as a four-piece band from South Africa; they travelled to Germany for the first time in the summer of 2014, where their unique, high-energy melodic folk sound secured them a following wherever they went. After a brief hiatus, they returned to Germany during the summer of 2015 to launch their debut album, Lullabies for the Restless, with Motor Entertainment. After a failed attempt to secure long-stay artist visas for Germany, the band was forced to return to South Africa. Back in South Africa they reinitiated the process for German artist visas and started pre-production on a new record, which unfortunately never saw the light of day. The bureaucratic process took its toll, and the group lost two members during 2016. Their drummer, Justin, decided to stay in South Africa and swop his drumset for his surfboard, while the bass guitarist, Jonathan, decided to pursue a solo career.
