Kraak & Smaak
Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug are a trio of musicians and producers from Leiden (NL). They started releasing single records at the British label of Jalapeno in 2003. The records appealed to several DJs of the prestigious Radio One and this in turn led to invitations by some local artists to remixing in the USA and Australia as well as to the first concert tour in the two countries. The debut record Boogie Angst (2005) supported the reputation of the band and ultimately led to performances at notable music festivals like Pinkpop, Sziget, Austin’s SXSW, and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The second album Plastic People, a name that resonates well with Czech audiences, opened for Kraak & Smaak the road to the charts and airplay on global radio and TV stations. The next LP Electric Hustle was released last May and it only confirmed that the trio ranks among Europe’s most popular projects of its kind.
