Collegium Zieleński

Collegium Zieleński is an ensemble consisting of 27 singers and 9 instrumentalists, playing historical instruments. It was founded and has been run since 2009 by Stanisław Gałoński – a conductor, for many years an animator of cultural life in Poland. The main goal of the Collegium is to promote the work of Mikołaj Zieleński – a brilliant Polish composer from the 17th century, considered to be the most outstanding artist before Chopin. His music, juxtaposed with the style of G. Gabriele or C. Monteverdi's music is still poorly recognised abroad. In order to popularise this work, the Collegium under Stanisław Gałoński made the first complete recording of Mikołaj Zieleński's works. It was honoured with numerous nominations and awards, including Fryderyks and Orphée d'Or. The Collegium dedicates concerts in Poland and abroad to this composer. Apart from concerts devoted to this composer, Collegium Zieleński also performs music from many different eras - from the Middle Ages to contemporary times, foreign and Polish.
