Skalpel Big Band

Skalpel duo is today a classic of European nu jazz. On their first two albums, Skalpel and Konfusion, released by Ninja Tune, the band translated the sound and atmosphere of Polish jazz from the 1960s and 1970s into the language of contemporary electronics, creating music with a sophisticated structure and high emotional load. Currently Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło present Skalpel Big Band. The originator of this seventeen-person confusion is Patryk Piłasiewicz, a composer and musician from Poznań. The idea of combining a new acoustic image of Skalpel's compositions with their electronic originals and leaving the musicians space for improvisation is the basis of the idea.
