Jozef van Wissem
Van Wissem's music has an intense impact on listeners; it is hypnotizing, pure and minimalistic, it creates an unusual, transcendental atmosphere. The artist travels the world continuously, performing in clubs and festivals such as All Tomorrow's Parties and Primavera Sound. Van Wissem studied in New York, where he currently lives, and teaches an interesting subject called "Lute Liberation". He is also involved in various projects, such as composing a "soundtrack" to the painting "Ambassadors". It was commissioned by the National Gallery in London and the recording of several compositions for Sims Medieval. In 2013, the musician was appreciated at the Cannes Film Festival, winning a soundtrack award for Jim Jarmusch's film "Only Lovers Left Alive". He has also recorded with Tilda Swinton and Zola Jesus. Each of his concerts is a unique experience; dark, hypnotic compositions on a unique black lute created especially for the artist.
The concert will be preceded by a screening of the film "Only Lovers Left Alive" directed by Jim Jarmusch in the Chmury Club.
