Högni (Gus Gus)
The singer from Icelandic bands Gus Gus and Hjaltalín released his solo album “Two Trains” on Erased Tapes in October 2017. Now, the album finally reaches Prague. Accompanied by a string quartet, he will perform at Palác Akropolis on 20 March 2019.
Högni has made two albums in collaboration with the iconic band Gus Gus, and the album Arabian Horse, released in 2011 on Kompakt Records, attracted great acclaim. He has also maintained a long and successful career with Hjaltalín, but he will arrive alone in Prague with his solo album Two Trains, which he released on Erased Tapes. The album, a mix of lyricism and electronics, will be accompanied by a string quartet.
Högni can also be heard on the albums of mum, Ian Pooley, and Ólöf Arnalds. He composes music for theatrical performances and television films, but is now releasing his first ever solo album at age thirty. Two Trains unifies each end of his career - tenderly melancholic songs and sophisticated electronics.
