Awali and Zamilska will perform at Hybrydy to celebrate the 12th anniversary of radio show Ciemna Strona Mocy w Trójce broadcast at Polish Radio 3.

Awali is a project of Sofia-Tamara Shmidt endowed with a warm, soothing voice. Her compositions balance between dirty electronics, delicate, melancholic downtempo and classical minimalism. As she says about herself, she is a combination of a classically trained pianist and choir conductor, self-taught singer, and musician. She composes, creates sounds and visualizations, writes lyrics and records and mixes songs in her home studio. All this allows her to work most authentically in searching for boundaries between emotions. Although she performed in many places in Europe and at many festivals (Lunchmeat, Euroconnections, United Islands, Electronic Crossroads – Colors of Ostrava, Female is the Future), this will be her first concert in Poland.

Zamilska is the brightest star of the Polish electronic scene. An uncompromising perfectionist. Tough but modest. Composer and producer. As she emphasizes, she is self-taught. The music created by Zamilska cannot be put into frames. Oscillating between heavy techno, noisy, predatory industrial and world music, it primarily focuses on quality, not quantity. This year she released her third album Uncovered, which in my opinion strengthened her position on Polish electronic scene as the most interesting figure. Her compositions are appreciated not only in Poland but also around the world. Iggy Pop and Mary Anne Hobbs repeatedly played them on BBC radio, and Trent Reznor recommends it on Spotify. She collaborated with Nosowska, Quebonafide and Maria Peszek and remixed Rita Pax, The Dumplings, Natalia Fiedorczuk and recently the composition of Paula Temple Cages.

Radio show Ciemna Strona Mocy w Trójce is hosted by Aleksandra Kaczkowska. The first broadcast took place on October 13, 2007. The show is the successor of the Popołudniowe Rozmowy z Dźwiękiem. Aleksandra Kaczkowska serves in CSM very eclectic music cocktail. Reaches inside many niche music drawers. Trip-hop, jazz, grimy electronics, and darker alternative are here on par with classical and film music. After 12 years Ciemna Strona Mocy w Trójce is no longer only a radio music show, but also generations of listeners gathered around it. An incredible community of people who have entered into long-term friendships. Over the years of broadcasting, CSM raised several young radio hosts and inspired a new generation of radio listeners. It is thanks to them that the show has his chapter in the book about 33 most popular broadcasts in the history of Polish Radio 3 by Wiesław Weiss.
