Polish independent publishing agency Karrot Kommando celebrates its 15th birthday. The next day of the celebration will be an unusual meeting from the borderland of music and literature. Ilona Wiśniewska will read excerpts from her books to the special accompaniment of the vocal trio of the Village Warsaw band. There will be an opportunity to ask questions to both the author and the vocalists. After the meeting, the Kirszenbaum group will perform and the whole event will be hosted by Paweł "Pablopavo" Soltys.

The Krakow duo Kirszenbaum enlivens the postfolk ruins, sets fresh directions for them and throws them straight onto loopers, with a Slavic touch, colliding Tom Waits and Junip. Zola screams at the klezmers, Henry Miller dances with the Mummins and the result is a melancholic intertextual carousel. In terms of music, the highly eclectic style of the project is based on close cooperation of guitars, post-rock violins and live recorded loops. All this contributes to a contemporary and very specific interpretation of Slavic, Klezmer and Anglo-Saxon folklore, watered with a dynamic, whispering and screaming vocal duo. A skilled ear will catch the influences of such artists as Fink, Andrew Bird, Warren Ellis, late Tom Waits or early Nick Cave, a skilled eye will notice the play with more or less classical positions of silent cinema, early SF cinema and others, and a skilled reader will see the intertextual juggling with literary references in the textual layer, from Albert Camus and Franz Kafka, through Tove Jansson and Gombrowicz, to even Terry Pratchett.
