Knosis

Knosis is a Japanese music project led by Ryo Kinoshita, the former vocalist of the metalcore band Crystal Lake. After leaving Crystal Lake in 2022, Kinoshita founded Knosis as a new creative platform. The project is conceived as an artistic whole that incorporates music, visual elements, and a personal concept.

The work of Knosis includes elements of metalcore, experimental metal, and atmospheric sound layers. The creation of the music also involves Yosh Morita from The Hideout studio, who participates in both the songwriting process and the development of lyrics and concepts. Some of the project's tracks reference themes inspired by video games, which is reflected especially in the titles and motifs of the compositions.

Knosis collaborates with the label SharpTone Records. The debut album Genknosis was released in August 2025 and contains ten tracks. One of them features guest vocalist Yukina Hanabie.

The project is also active in live performances. In 2024, it carried out a European tour that included a standalone headlining show, followed by concerts in Japan in 2025.

The current work of Knosis focuses on developing a concept that connects musical, visual, and personal dimensions. The project is presented as an expression of Ryo Kinoshita’s identity, in which music serves as a primary means of conveying themes related to internal experience and personal interpretation of the world.
