The group was founded after lunch one Sunday February ninety-seventh year, when the then folkrock Martin Smid, newly enamored of klezmer, sought to exercise their creative pressure and desire to play as the Klezmatics. The partnership gained his brother Michael Smid accordionist and bassist Andrew Kudyda Pacific. The newly created trio first appeared on the 12th 6th 1997 at Club U Rafa in Hanspaulka.
